Powering this beast is the biggest production engine fitted to a car, 8.3 litres and tencylinders, taking the American thinking - there's no replacement for displacment - to the max and giving 500bhp/525ib/ft of torque. Sitting low down in the cockpit, the exhaust outlet just a few inches away, the bonnet streches out in front of you, this is car that will make a big impressions on you - for all the right reasons. Before driving the Viper, there's some time to learn the circuit, initially with the instructor driving in the new Mazda3 MPS and then with you behind the wheel in the fantastic Porsche Cayman.
