Sony HDD-SR75 Hard Disc Handycam Camcorder by from John Lewis

The lightweight Sony DCR-SR75 digital Handycam camcorder has a built-in 60GB hard-drive that is capable of recording up to 41 hours of video. Without a tape or disc in sight, recording video to a hard drive offers you random access to quickly locate desired material, the ability to effortlessly delete unwanted material and easily rearrange the playback sequence. What's more, there's no danger of mistakenly recording over something that's to be saved. And with the Sony DCR-SR75 there’s even a Face Index and Film Roll Index feature for easy browsing and reviewing of your footage. You’ll enjoy your home movies in excellent quality thanks to the 1 megapixel Advanced HAD CCD. It works by placing a microscopic lens on top of each pixel so that as much light as possible can be focused onto it. This means that colour noise is reduced and overall image quality is improved. There's a large, widescreen 2.7 inch touch panel LCD screen for easy scene selection and Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization to ensure clean, sharp results when you’re shooting handheld. There’s also a Hard Disc Drive crash protection system with 3G sensor and buffer memory. The compact SR75 features a professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with 25x optical and up to 2000x digital-zoom, while a clever zoom microphone helps pick up the dialogue of your shooting subjects from afar. The SR75 also provides true 16:9 widescreen recording, resulting in a wider angle of view - ideal for playback on widescreen TVs and on the camera itself via the LCD screen. Finally, a Handycam docking station is also provided for easy charging.
