Total Guitar
Total Guitar is one of my favourite magazines and ive been a subscriber since the 90's! Its of a quality format and incredibly easy to read. In fact with the tonnes of articles and interviews its one of those magazines that you can put down and next time you pick up, find something you have not read!
Each Issue is packed full of practical tips for guitar players and bass players alike. As well as the tricks and tips there are full tablature for you favourite songs, by some of the hottest acts around!
The magazine comes with a CD that is heaving with some top licks and backing tracks along with the full songs listed on the magazine cover.
For each track on the CD, there is the full tablature and notation inside the magazine. For the tricky parts there are full explanations and descriptions. You get the Lyrics and a little summary of the song, along with an explanation of the tuning used.
There are chord explanations for the rhythm parts and these are also good if you have an acoustic and are just jamming at a friends house rather than up on stage with your band!
Within no time you can start sounding like a professional musician. Not only that but , with the full backing tracks and percussion, you can sound like you are one of you biggest heroes in a rock band!
As well as the interviews with your favourite artists, there are gig reviews listing artists and gigs in various areas, Along with pages of adverts for some of the hottest music shops and retailers around
In the equipment reviews , you will find some of the hottest guitars and basses and amplifiers reviewed in fine detail, leaving you with no guesswork as which you want to buy! Effects are also reviewed .With a full rundown of the technical specifications of each piece of equipment, Total Guitar almost seems like an Encyclopaedia of whats hot in the world of music!
