I love Mr Frosty, I used to have one as a kid which I would play with for hours on end, but my brother bought me one recently for a birthday present and all the memories just came flooding back, and now I can't stop playing with him again, even at 23! Sure the slushies are really syrupy and it takes a while to get to grips with, but the end result is a taste that'll take you back years.
I always lump Mr Frosty in the same category as a Sodastream, kind of pointless but you have to have one, even if you could go buy a slushy from the local newsagents. But to see the coloured icy crystals churning out of Mr Frosty's washing machine style stomach, and hearing that satisfying crunch, knowing that I made it, beats spending two quid on a ready made one.
To any Mums thinking of buying one, it is a messy play, and your kids might harass you for hours to keep freezing ice cubes, but it is safe and non-toxic and loads and loads of fun. And your kids might present you with a lovingly made sno-cone. Although he is basically a snowman, Mr Frosty is great for cooling off in the summer or making christmas sno cones during the holidays.
It's one of those toys that kids will love and then grow tired of, but its also one of those things where if you go back to it after forgetting about it, you'll want to rediscover it all again, so it is value for money, and obviously you don't want your kids eating sno-cones all the time. Thats another thing, at least ice and sugar isn't quite as bad as a burger and chocolate, and believe me, once you've had sno-cones the Mr Frosty way, you won't want it any different.
