Upon entering the sixth season, with many rumours that this will be the penultimate outing, many felt that the Scrubs Sixth Series would flounder greatly. However, like its predecessors, the Sixth Series provides bagfuls of laughter!
I have to admit, I am a huge fan of Scrubs and in my opinion, it is one of the best shows on television today. The sixth series continues the great tradition and only falls down on one episode in the whole series! Which is an incredible feat for series that runs for 22 episodes.
The season 6 Set is a 3 DVD package that provides all of the 22 episodes, including the making of the 'My Musical' episode, an interview with actress Judy Reyes, deleted scenes and of course, some hysterical outtakes!
One of the factors that has made Scrubs so special in previous years is it's originality and this continues in series 6, even more so in my opinion! Right from episode one, JD's intensely crazy fantasies are scattered through the episodes, each one funnier than the next. Turk is more forgetful and 'cocky' as ever. Doctor Cox provides some even more elaborate rants, none greater than in 'My Musical'. Carla is more obsessive and nosey than ever before and Elliot is her usual, nervous self.
Where I feel that season six excels is with interspersing the comedy with the challenges that the characters are facing, they are all growing older and maturing and in season six you really begin to have the feeling that their lives are changing and there are more responsibilities, such as pregnancy and new job titles.
As mentioned before, the only pitfall of this series is the clip show, which is just a recap of old clips from the show, which lacked originality but did contain some moments of pure comedy.
The whole series contains laughter, drama and many shocks that will come as a great surprise. The whole series comes to a close with a dramatic double-episode that will leave you craving for the next series.
In my opinion, a great DVD package that is perfect for any Scrubs fan. Again, Scrubs does not disappoint!
