High School Musical 2 Movie DVD - High School Musical 2: Extended Edition (Region 3)
I first saw High School Musical on the Disney channel with my sister. She is a massive fan of anything on the Disney channel and was extremely excited when she heard that there was going to be a sequel to this now massive franchise called High School Musical 2. Anyone who has young children have bound to have heard of these movies, as the shops are full of High School Musical merchandise, dolls, books, stationary etc. and if you get this DVD you will be keeping them amused and possibly active (if they like to join in) for hours.
For those who hadn't seen the first High School Musical, it centres around a group of characters set in a school where there are auditions for the school show. Gabriella is the shy new girl with brains and beauty to boot and Troy is the school heart throb and captain of the school basketball team. With various musical numbers and obstacles, including Sharpay who has her sights set on Troy, the pair eventually end up together and get through to the call backs, which is where the film ends.
High School Musical 2 is set during the summer holidays and the Wildcats (the high school basketball team) realise that they should use their time wisely and decide to get jobs at Lava Springs, along with many of their peers. The club they end up in turns out to be owned by Sharpay and Ryan's parents which is where they like to hang out during the holidays. They also have an annual talent contest which she is usually the winner of, but when the others find out about it, she plots to sabotage the competition!
In my opinion this film is the better of the two, the film has more of story and plotline, the songs are catchier, the dance sequences and look of the film is far more vibrant and exciting. Definitely get this DVD if your children loved the first.
