Peep Show: Series 1 - 3 Box Set
I was recommended this by a friend and had never seen an episode till I bought this boxset, and well honestly after starting I just couldn't resist watching the rest all back to back. This is a unique style of classic British comedy which only "Spaced" comes close to being as clever and funny. The lives of two roommates who lead very different lives, yet are entwined under such basic human needs, instincts and desires are captured quite brilliantly so many of us can relate to their inner most feelings.
The style of Peep Show is out there on its own with the view through each characters eyes and their own personal inner voice being spoken with the utmost truth. Personally and amongst my friends "Super Hans" is by far the best character and the storyline development of his character is superb through all three seasons.
This Boxset is great as they have provided all three seasons in one package at an affordable price so you feel that you really are getting value for money with this purchase. Can't wait to see if they release more. I would highly recommend this to anyone who works in an office environment, is a student, an unsigned music artist or anyone British for that matter (classic British humour that the American market just doesn't get most of the time). One of the main characters Mark reminded me so much of the of the awkwardness captured in "The Office" and in so many ways and his relentless perusal of the love of his life "Sophie" is tragically ridiculed by the other main character "Jeremy" who seems to live a carefree somewhat scrounging lifestyle, yet both men are exposed by their inner thoughts to be after the same goal...sex.
I have since recommended this to many of my friends and re-watched the series again and again, there is a lot to learn about ourselves in the way we think and behave around others. It’s nice to see we are not so different from everyone else after all as I’m sure the writers must have felt when writing the scripts. Casting brilliant, storylines developing and transverse all three seasons this is a very funny series everyone should watch.
