I absolutely love this Bodum Glass teapot, it just looks so 'cool' and different from the typical ceramic teapots that everyone is used to. From a practical point of view, you can actually see whether your tea is brewed throughly enough for your taste by just looking at the colour of the teapot's content and you can see whether its running out too, otherwise i used to peer into my teapots from the little hole at the top and try to estimate how much is left!
The plastic handle doesn't heat up at all unlike my normal teapot which i previously held with a tea towel so i wouldn't burn my hands. Also the top of the teapot is in fact fixed to the teapot's body so when you pour it, you don't have to hold the top in case it is about to fall off because it simply doesn't.
This is a real fashion item and a pure reflection of what modern design and living is like - transparent, simple and easy. As the handle and lid are both black, it doesn't look out of place with any colour cups and sauces / mugs that you might choose to serve the tea in. So you certainly don't need to match your cups to your teapot like in the olden days. This Bodum Glass teapot can hold up to 1 litre of water, which is much more than my old teapot, so i don't have to keep refilling it and making more tea if i have quite a few people round.
This Bodum teapot doesn't get as hot as the usual ceramic teapot, so there is another advantage there. I would definitely buy my granny one, as she's getting on a bit and needs to use a teapot that doesn't require her to hold the lid with one hand. Also i would get one for my cousin - as mums we are always having coffee/tea mornings and this is the ultimate accessory!
